Electromagnetic Fields and Radiation
Electromagnetic fields (EMFs) and radiation are a growing concern for workers in various industries. Exposure to high levels of EMFs can cause adverse health effects, including cancer. In particular, workers exposed to radiofrequency (RF) radiation, such as those who work with cell phone towers or broadcast equipment, may be at increased risk of developing certain types of cancer.
There are several ways to protect workers from exposure to EMFs and radiation. These include using personal protective equipment (PPE), such as monitors, and implementing engineering controls, such as creating barriers between workers and EMF sources. In addition, employers can monitor workers' exposure to EMFs and radiation and take steps to reduce exposure if levels are found to be too high.
